Trail renovation

OK so in follow up to my 'where I've been' post, here are the 'after' photos of the house reno. Quite a transformation, if I do say so myself.

I posted updates of the renovation on my facebook profile, and more than once was told I should have my own show! I can't say I would mind that, I think I'd be pretty awesome! Cooking and renovating... and other entertainment options. :)

Ohhhh I never shower anymore. After four months of living in rubble, and having a crack-addicts bathtub, the first bath in here was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. I cried a little.

The men who use my bathroom for the first time all come out again all like "How girly..." I think its because of the lavender.

I love cooking, I love philosophy, and I love fixing things. You will find a little of all of those things here.

Whilst pulling weeds out of the garden or whipping up a batch of fresh pesto, I like to ponder politics, religion, sociology, and the effects of urban living on the human psyche, especially to those who grace my kitchen. And I am rationally (and humorously) outspoken about it, so beware: my posts about pesto and weed pulling may be littered with social commentary. While pointing out the ironies and satirical aspects of it all... And I am an ardent feminist. I hope that doesn't immediately make any of my viewers automatically want to leave this site.

I am not a stereotype of a feminist: I am not interested in any form or exhibition or aggrandizement of victimhood or self-pity. I can change a tire and oh so much more, and I want more women to foster their convictions, strength and independence for the good of all, and to be better at loving. Make pesto and pull weeds if you like, go solo, or stay at home and have kids, or take the boardroom approach if you prefer. Either way, I think the world needs more strong people. Of all varieties. I still love and respect men though, and you will see me touting the awesomest ones I know here.

And though I am not a true "prepper", I definitely have a proclivity towards being prepared for the worst, which I foresee in my lifetime, and I will share my learnings with you here.

I think I'd call myself a "rebellious, creative, critical thinking consequentialist capitalist community benefactor." Hows that for a definition? Too pretentious?
